Communications Consultant:
Context America, Inc
Context helps companies strategize and communicate about corporate sustainability. Context America is a subsidiary of the Context Group, based in the UK.
Context America is a growing corporate sustainability consultancy with a roster of excellent clients, including Brown-Forman, Caterpillar, Cisco, Motorola, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Citigroup, Mars and United Technologies.
We are looking to appoint a communications consultant to support our US team. She/he will work from our New York office and be part of a broader transatlantic team, working closely with colleagues in London.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping to devise and implement internal and external sustainability communications strategies for clients, using all media.
- Supporting the Context team in devising, planning and writing corporate sustainability reports for multinational clients.
- Research in support of the team.
The successful applicant will have most of the following abilities and qualifications:
- At least 18 months experience working in the corporate sustainability/CR field, either in-house or with an agency.
- A passion for the subject and a desire to be fluent in the full range corporate sustainability issues.
- A keen interest in business.
- Outgoing personality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An ability to write clearly in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A full understanding of digital communications media.
- A bachelor’s degree.
Salary and package will be competitive and reflect experience. The position is based in New York and the successful applicant will be a permanent resident of the USA.

Internships
Context interns get involved in all aspects of our work, including research, writing, client meetings and brainstorming sessions. We want our interns to get the most out of their time with us and we try to make each placement as varied and rewarding as possible.
Our internships last for three months for a minimum of three days a week.
What we are looking for
We look for interns who are enthusiastic, hard working and creative. Many of our interns have studied sustainability or have relevant work or voluntary experience. Good verbal and written communication skills are important too.
Pay
We don’t think anyone should work for free. We expect a lot from our interns and think it’s only fair that they are properly rewarded. We pay our interns a daily rate of £60.
